Because of the more powerful engine and improved short take-off and landing capability, the Super Cub often has floats added for take-off and landing from lakes and reservoirs and other small protected bodies of water. Float equipped aircraft are often used to transport goods and passengers to remote fishing and hunting lodges and can found in remote locations throughout the world. Piper Super Cubs can be found not only in the United States and Canada but also on lakes and fjords in Europe.
